Madeleine McGuire, MA
Psychology Intern
Madeleine McGuire (she/her) is a psychology intern from William James College in Newton, Massachusetts. She is the process of earning a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. She earned an Enroute Masters from William James College and BS in Psychology at Tulane University.
Madeleine has extensive clinical experience providing evidenced based treatment and assessment to children and families in a range of settings including McLean Anxiety Mastery Program (MAMP), McLean Franciscan Child and Adolescent Inpatient, and Boston Child Study Center (BCSC). She has training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is currently working towards her certification in the Modular Approach to Treatment for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma or Conduct Problems (MATCH-ADTC).
Madeleine’s research interest includes understanding the influence of family functioning on pediatric medical traumatic stress (PMTS). In her work with children and families, she values the flexible integration of clients’ strengths into interventions to create individualized treatment that honor and respect their unique abilities.
