Staff Mental Health Counselor
Liz is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and Staff Mental Health Counselor at The Center for Effective Therapy. Liz holds her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Boston College. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings and levels of care and has provided individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, school consultations and large-scale interventions across school, outpatient, and community-based settings. Liz specializes in working with youth experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. Liz is trained in evidence-based models such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure response prevention (ERP) and is certified in Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems (MATCH-ADTC) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Additionally, she is working towards certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Liz is passionate about increasing access to evidence-based interventions and quality assessment in community settings. She brings humor and curiosity to her work with clients, and approaches psychotherapy using a strength-based lens, partnering with young people and their families to take an active role in treatment, increase insight, and enhance sustainable coping and problem-solving skills.
