Staff Mental Health Counselor
Liz Guerrant is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and Staff Mental Health Counselor at The Center for Effective Therapy. Liz graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Boston College in 2019. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings and levels of care and has provided individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, school consultations and large-scale interventions across school, outpatient, and community-based settings. Liz specializes in working with youth experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. Liz has training in evidence-based models such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure response prevention (ERP), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and is certified in Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems (MATCH-ADTC). Additionally, she is working towards certification in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Liz is passionate about increasing access to evidence-based interventions and quality assessment in community settings. She brings humor and curiosity to her work with clients, and approaches psychotherapy using a strength-based lens, partnering with young people and their families to take an active role in treatment, increase insight, and enhance sustainable coping and problem-solving skills.
