Carly Stern, PsyD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Carly Stern is a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Baker Center working within the Center for Effective Therapy and a Clinical Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Stern received her B.A. in Psychology from New York University and her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, Post Campus. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital, a children’s psychiatric inpatient unit in Westland, Michigan.
Dr. Stern has been trained in a number of evidence-based models such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She is working towards her certification in the Modular Approach to Treatment for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems (MATCH-ADTC) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Dr. Stern has also had significant training in comprehensive and psychological evaluations, including psychoeducational testing. In addition to working directly with children and families, Carly has extensive experience working within multidisciplinary teams to help families navigate complex systems of care.
Dr. Stern is passionate about providing evidence-based care to children and their families and has extensive experience working to adapt evidence-based interventions to diverse and multicultural populations. Carly’s dissertation research focused on clinicians’ perceptions on the utility of diagnostic assessments when working with gender expansive youth.
