Neuropsychological Assessments

Neuropsychological assessments at CET are designed to help you and your child or adolescent understand their unique cognitive profile.  We conduct a comprehensive assessment to help you understand and learn about concerns you have regarding your child's overall functioning and behavior.

What is a Neuropsychological Evaluation?  

A neuropsychological evaluation is aimed at helping you understand how your child’s learning and behavior is associated with the brain. This is done by formally testing your child’s skills and abilities in a variety of academic, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral domains.  

What Does a Neuropsychological Evaluation Assess?

  • Learning and memory 
  • General intelligence 
  • Visual-spatial skills 
  • Language  
  • Attention  
  • Executive skills (such as organization, flexibility, and planning)  
  • Academic achievement skills (such as reading and math)  
  • Sensorimotor skills 
  • Behavior and emotional functioning 
  • Social skills 

We evaluate youth ages 2 to 22 with many types of neurodevelopmental, neurocognitive, neurological, and medical problems, including but not limited to the conditions listed below.

Note: Our diagnostic procedures do not include neurological examinations, EEGs, or brain imaging. We also do not prescribe medication.
