Parent Nights

Parents are an essential part of Camp Baker. During the summer (weekly) and throughout the following school year (monthly), didactic parent group sessions help caregivers develop skills to improve appropriate behavior while reducing problem behaviors. One of the primary goals of parent training is to help caregivers maintain and extend the gains made in Camp Baker to the child’s home while creating a community of support.  We also emphasize social skill development. Parent sessions occur in the evening; childcare and food are provided free of charge.

“We learned concrete skills that we put in place at home.”

"We felt supported, validated, heard, and that many of our questions and previous pitfalls were anticipated and immediately addressed.”

“It was great to connect to other parents experiencing similar things.”
