TF-CBT
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treats children who have been impacted by traumatic events
What is TF-CBT and Who is It For?
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is the most well-supported and effective treatment for children impacted by trauma. This program is structured and short-term, typically lasting 12-25 sessions.
We've been awarded a grant to form The MetroWest Evidence-based Trauma-Informed Referral & Treatment Initiative for Children (METRIC). METRIC aims to increase access to trauma-focused, evidence-based services for children and adolescents ages 2 to 18, and their families, in school and community-based settings in Waltham, Boston, and surrounding communities. - Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Fear
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Cognitive and Behavioral Problems
Caregiver Involvement
TF-CBT can also help a caregiver's personal distress about their child’s traumatic experience and can improve effective parenting skills and supportive interactions.
