Research
Our group studies the psychotic disorders, including the schizophrenias and bipolar disorders, as well as neurodegenerative disorders, which are common in late life in those with mood and psychotic disorders. Currently, our research is primarily on cells that have been reprogrammed to neural and glial lines, grown in 2D and 3D cultures, including organoids. Alterations in various structural features and biochemical processes are associated with specific neuropsychiatric disorders and may provide guidance on new therapeutic interventions. Through collaborations, clinical, genomic, and brain imaging data are available on the patients and healthy controls who donate cell lines.
